Weekly Specials CHS: March 29-April 4
Cheers on the pier 🍺, dogs on the deck 🐕, and places to celebrate the beginning of softie season 🦀!
Howdy! This week’s list is a little short just because I’m traveling for work and have limited access to a computer! Still lots of fun stuff going on in CHS, as always.
This week’s specials:
Looking for last-minute plans tonight?
Charleston County Parks’ Cheers on the Pier is starting on the Mount Pleasant Pier. Bring your own blankets and chairs but don’t BYOB as outside drinks are prohibited. There will be craft beer and live music, and more details can be found here.
Coterie is collaborating with the Dropping Pin on a daiquiri-making class featuring Diplomatico rum! The class starts at 7pm and tickets are available here.
Friday, March 29th
Today is the first day of Rita’s Roots two-day in-person sale in partnership with the Charleston Parks Conservancy, featuring organic plants and seeds like lettuces, broccoli, kale, cucumber, peppers, and eggplant (plus the staples like soil and compost!) From 10am to 3pm, they’ll be set up at Magnolia Park & Community Garden in West Ashley. For more info, see the Charleston Parks Conservancy’s site. (Feeling déjà vu? This was in last week’s newsletter, but ended up getting postponed due to the weather!)
Saturday, March 30th
Share House’s Dogs on the Deck event is happening from 11am to 1pm. You’re encouraged to bring your furry friend! There will be adoptable dogs from Rosie Rescue, and you can also support some local businesses who will be set up there, including my friend Kate AKA @CoveyCollection! She makes the perfect dog accessories for a Charleston pup, like the bow tie below (modeled by Covey himself).
Sadly, one of Charleston’s vegan restaurants, Neon Tiger, will close this evening. (Thanks to Joy F for letting me know about this!) They’ll be doing a live music sendoff that night, with tix available at the door, or free entry to that evening’s diners (FYI, they recommend making reservations as there will be limited walk-ins). Find more info on their Instagram. I’ll be sure to stop by before they close up shop for good.
The Little Palm bar + grill at the Ryder Hotel is doing their second Sunset Sessions from 4-7pm. There will be live music, tropical-inspired cocktails, and plenty of grilled food specials. Reservations are encouraged but not required.

Softie szn 🦀
Soft shell crab season is short but sweet! There are already a few restaurants that have specials going on. Here are the ones I’ve seen below, but will post more next week if the list expands (which I’m sure it will):
S.N.O.B. has a soft shell crab twist on a BLT sandwich!
Lil’ updates
Kwei Fei and its sister restaurant Beautiful South have joined the Blackbird loyalty program! For more on what this means, check out my post from February.
Coming up
It doesn’t seem like it’s open to the public yet, but the owners of downtown’s Dalila’s are opening a new bar in Park Circle soon! Sissy Bar, according to the owner, will have a “SoCal, West Coast easy rider vibe” and focus on mezcal and tequila drinks. Stay tuned for more details on the opening!
A new combo coffee shop, lunch spot, and bar vibe is coming to Line Street very soon! Some time next week, City Lights Eastside should be opening up on 12 Line Street. Nordic Cooking’s GF baguette mix will be sold there, and their baguette will be a bread option for City Lights’ sandwiches!
That’s a wrap!
