Coterie, one of the cutest outdoor coffee and drink spots, IMO, is having their Third Annual Holi Celebration from noon to 4pm. There’ll be color throwing, live music, drinks by @nock_tequila, and Indian Street Food by Coterie’s executive chef! Tickets available on Eventbrite.
Help make the world their oyster 🦪 Pet Helpers, a 501(c)3 adoption center and spay/neuter clinic based in the Lowcountry, is throwing their 23rd annual Oyster Roast and Silent Auction on Bowen’s Island from 2-5pm. Tickets include all you can eat oysters and a bloody Mary bar, but most importantly, they help support pups like Saphira and Harold! Apparently their ticketing site is down so call them directly at 843-795-1110 for tix, or stay tuned to their Instagram for updates.
Starting at 4pm, Bar Rollins is hosting a spring market! Food vendors include Brandon’s Bread and Lowcountry Street Grocery (with ALL the local produce in tow!) Some local artists will be set up there, too, including Gabriela Gomez-Misserian, whose watercolor studies of local restaurants are stunning.
Monday, March 25th
Perfectly timed with my boyfriend’s 11th rewatch of the Sopranos 🤌 Michael Toscano, owner of Le Farfalle and the new-ish da Toscano Porchetta Shop on President Street, is launching an “unauthentic Italian-inspired American food” concept at Revelry Brewing Co. They’re calling it da Toscano FUGAZZI, and the menu highlights seem more casual and quirky than their other Charleston locations, which is to be expected given the name! They’re promising a meatball smashburger, cornmeal fried shrimp scampi, and a porchetta Cubano among other offerings.
Tuesday, March 26th
The new Italian spot in the Jasper, Costa, is throwing a special five-course family-style meal with wine pairings from Proprieta Sperino Estate in the northern part of Italy's Piedmont region. Tickets available on Resy (but, FYI, as of writing this on Thursday 3/21, there are only FOUR tickets left!)
Thursday, March 28th
Coterie is collaborating with the Dropping Pin on a daiquiri-making class featuring Diplomatico rum! The class starts at 7pm and tickets are available here.

New openings
Sip back and relax with a good book 📖 This is a little delayed, but I did not realize that Philosophers & Fools had opened already! Charleston needed a quaint bookstore, bar and community gathering place, and as of March 9th, well, we’ve got it! Shoutout to Amy S-L for letting me know about this. Check out the recent profile of the owners in the Charleston City Paper to learn more about how this was born out of a Kickstarter campaign, too.
Lil’ updates
Lowland and the Quinte, both part of the Pinch Hotel, are now open seven days a week! They’re doing dinner every night from 5-10pm. I love Lowland’s deviled eggs and their chicory salad, plus it’s just a beautifully decorated space.
Color me intrigued…We went to Bearcat back in December after its soft opening, and I have truly not been able to stop raving about it since. Chef George Kovach and his team just harvested forty pounds of local green (?!) strawberries from Ambrose Family Farm on Wadmalaw Island to preserve and use. I’m dying to return to Bearcat soon, but I’m out of town for the next week, so please someone let me live vicariously through your meal and let me know what they’re doing with those green strawbs!
Wild Common is celebrating their 5th anniversary this week! Through the 24th, they’re featuring the chef and team's most beloved menu items. Book on Resy.
Shrimply the best🦐 Both Sullivan’s Fish Camp and the Post House Inn have released new menu items this week! I’m most excited about Fish Camp’s tuna crudo with yuzu tonatto, cucumber, and ginger scallion sauce, but the Post House’s shrimp skewers with salsa verde are on my list, too.
Little Jack’s Tavern just launched a new boozy slushie and it sounds SO good. The “Porch Torch” features Bourbon, sweet tea syrup from local mixer and tonic company Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. and fresh lemon juice. Catch me on the next sunny weekend day having one on their patio!
Sushi Chef Shin Horiguchi is back at the Charleston Place’s Thoroughbred Club for another 10-night only dinner experience. This time, though, it does seem to have an à la carte option as well as omakase. Through March 30th, you can book on Resy.
Coming up
Dog days! Share House is hosting a special event soon in honor of man’s best friend, called Dogs on the Deck, on March 30th from 11am to 1pm. There will be adoptables from Rosie Rescue, and my friend Kate AKA @CoveyCollection will be there! She creates the most special touches for your dog (and your home!), that are inspired by her adorable pup Covey. I’m currently obsessed with their new golf collection, and permanently obsessed with Covey. I’m going to stop by, so bring your doggo to Share House, too, and let me pet them, please!
That’s a wrap!
