Everyone’s favorite non-alcoholic aperitif, Ghia, is celebrating its fourth birthday at Bar Rollins tonight! There will be free Ghia for all bday partiers!
Saturday, June 15th
While Sightsee’s new location isn’t formally opened yet, they’ll be popping up on the sidewalk from 8am-noon at 698 Rutledge (across from the park) with their full espresso menu, cold brew, coffee beans, and a brand-new shirt design, too!
Merci is hosting picnics every Saturday this summer! Starting at 9am, they’ll be streetside at 28 Pitt Street with iced coffees and teas, pastries, and their signature focaccia! This weekend, there will also be a special tag sale just around the corner at 17 Montagu Street, with tabletop items collected by the Drifter. They do beautiful catering and private events, so I’m sure there will be some special pieces!
Sunday, June 16th
Mobile raw bar De Mare Raw Bar is popping up at Bar Rollins tonight from 5-8pm with their farm-to-table oyster experience, featuring locally cultivated oysters. More menu deets available on Insta at @de_marerawchs!
Monday, June 17th
From 7-9pm, Always Awkward Hospitality Group, run by the teams behind Kwei Fei and Beautiful South, is hosting a Pride cocktail party co-hosted by Chase & Colleen Glen, benefitting the Alliance for Full Acceptance. AFFA is a Charleston-based non-profit that works to achieve, nurture, and defend equality and full acceptance for LGBTQ folks. They run amazing media campaigns around SC, host trainings, advocate for local nondiscrimination ordinances, and give grants to organizations that are working to protect LGBTQ+ youth. (P.S. you can donate to AFFA here.) The Pride cocktail party will have baijiu flights, Kwei Fei’s take on espresso martinis, beer, wine, a signature mocktail, and snacks from Beautiful South. Plus, there will be tarot readings! Buy your tickets here.
If you can’t go to the Pride cocktail party, swing by Kwei Fei for a Baijiu Flight or Beautiful South for a Midnight on the Water sometime soon…one dollar will be donated to AFFA for each drink sold in June 🌈

Sorelle is launching their Andiamo! guest chef series this evening with Boston’s Chef Karen Akunowicz. You may recognize her from Top Chef Season 13 and Top Chef All Stars, plus she won a James Beard Award in 2018 for Best Chef: Northeast! Tickets to the 7-course curated Italian meal will also include a copy of Chef Karen’s cookbook, too.
New openings
Neighborhood Dining Group, who run Husk, Delaney Oyster House, Minero, and the James, opened their newest spot yesterday: Marbled & Fin on East Bay Street. Their menu features a raw bar with Kaluga and Osetra caviar, seafood towers, and classic steakhouse sides like creamed spinach, roasted mushrooms and potatoes au gratin. Book on Resy to try the surf & turf approach of Marbled & Fin.
Lil’ updates
FIG’s tomato tarte tatin is back! Slow-roasted and served with whipped goat cheese, black olive puree, and fresh herbs, it looks like a perfect summer dish! Call before your res to check if it’s on the menu before you go!
The Daily has some new specialty drinks on their menu, with all proceeds benefitting We Are Family, an SC-based nonprofit that provides life-affirming and life-saving programs for LGBTQ+ youth (psst, you can donate here!) All month, the Daily will be serving up lucky charms lattes with ube foam, their “HOT TO GO!” cold brew with sweet & spicy syrup (we love a Chappell Roan reference!), and their bear trap matcha limeade with coconut matcha foam.
Coming up
June 22 - LO-Fi Brewing’s “friend festival” called Rose Moon is happening from 6-11:30pm, and the wine and food options sound just as good as the live music! Natty wine bar Bar Rollins will be curating the wine menu, with a focus on rosé, and the folks behind Kwei Fei and Beautiful South are in charge of the six-dish menu. For dessert, Mon Frère will be popping up with ice cream! I’ve missed the past couple Mon Frère pop-ups, but everything they make looks so good! Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 day of on Eventbrite.
June 23 - Merci is hosting the second in their series of pop-ups, this time at Graft’s Good Neighbor Sunday! From 3-6pm there will be wine by the nice folks at Graft, plus a new pop-up menu from Merci’s Chef Michael Zentner.
June 24 - Local Korean mandu company Sarah’s Dumps is hosting a dinner pop-up at Odd Duck Market in North Charleston. They’ll have their pork & beef, buffalo chicken and veg dumps, alongside chicken and rice and Mayak eggs on rice, too.
June 26 - Ew, David! Bay Street Biergarten is hosting Schitt’s Creek Trivia at 7pm…if you know how to fold in the cheese, then it’s $10 to compete!
June 30 - Wild Common begins their 6th Annual Puerto Rican Pop-Up Series this evening, celebrating Executive Chef Orlando Pagán’s Puerto Rican roots. Book on Resy, and stay tuned for more pop-ups in the series on July 28th and August 23-24th!
