Happy Thursday, y’all!
I did a lil’ Mardi Gras round up last week, but I’ve updated that with a few newer events, too. You can find my list of Mardi Gras celebrations below the list of Weekly Specials.

We went to Bintu Atelier last week and absolutely adored the food, drinks, and desserts.
Calling all theater and wine lovers! The Footlight Players from Queen Street Playhouse is hosting a fundraiser they’re calling ‘A Wine For All Seasons’ from 6:30-8:30pm. How fun does this sound: they’ll be pairing six wines with each of next year’s planned shows, along their “theatre wine trail”. There will be snacks at each wine stop, but more importantly, actors will be stationed at each stop to provide clues about the featured show paired with the wine! Learn more below and buy tickets on their website here.
Saturday, March 1st
Prophet Coffee is celebrating two years with food trucks, local vendors, espresso martinis, beer and wine, flash tattoos, and…mullet cuts?! They also just announced that they’re opening up a brick-and-mortar Prophet Coffee Roasters & Cafe mid-summer! Yay! Stop by the in the morning for what I assume will be more coffee vibes, or pop by from 5-9 for what I assume will be more espresso martini and mullet cut vibes. Love it.
Sorelle launches their brunch service today! On Saturdays and Sundays, they’ll be serving up a new brunch menu that includes their famous pillows of gold pasta, as well as more classic brunch dishes with a Sorelle twist, like lobster eggs benedict and their Roman spin on French toast, served with a berry conserva and vanilla mascarpone.

One of my favorite independent publishers, Bitter Southerner, is coming to Charleston today to co-host an event with the fabulous Buxton Books. From 10:30-11:30am at the beautiful Charleston Library Society (the BEST venue for a chat about books, food, wine, or anything, IMO!) James Beard Award-winning author Shane Mitchell will be chatting with the Southern Fork podcast’s Stephanie Burt about her book The Crop Cycle. The Crop Cycle dives into eleven fruits and vegetables that are Southern staples, and you can buy tickets on the CLS website here.
Estadio is hosting a lil Charleston Wine + Food pre-party with their champagne and potato chip concept, Bar Estrella. They’ll have bubbles from Laurent-Perrier and fancy chips from 3-6pm.
Chef Modou Jaiteh of Farm Bluffton is taking over at Kultura tonight! Chef Jaiteh is originally from Gambia, and he and Chef Nikko will be cooking up a small plates menu together from 5-10pm. They’re opening up reservations for this one-night only BARKADA at Kultura event on Resy, but reservations aren’t required.
Thursday, March 6th
Wood-fired pizza, gelato, and truffle…martinis? I’m listening! Sorelle’s one-night-only Nightcap celebration will feature all of the above, and I honestly just cleared my schedule because the concept of a truffle martini (with truffles from Sabatino Truffles, too) is deeply important to me. They’ll also have beers from Fatty’s Beerworks for the more casual folks! No reservations needed.

Here are some drinks and dishes that caught my eye this week:
Mushrooms and bread are two of my favorite things in the world. I need to try these new pintxos from Estadio, using locally produced bread from Brandon’s Bread, almonds, and sherry vinaigrette.
I’m not really sweet coffee girlie, but this is just TOO cute: the Rise’s Teddy Graham Latte has lil’ floating teddy grahams on top! It’s available until March 1st, and also made with honey, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Husk’s Ghost Taxi cocktail sounds like it’s got a kick, but a nice delicate one. It’s made with vodka, cucumber, poblano, Italicus (a bergamot liqueur), absinthe, and lime.
I love hibiscus drinks! The James’ Honey Bee Mine is made with a hibiscus-infused gin, St Germain, honey, and Cava.
That’s a wrap!
