One of my favorite local female-founded small businesses, the Muffin Drop, just released a limited-time special flavor that looks SO GOOD: zesty funfetti! The Muffin Drop’s lil’ muffins are vegan, gluten-free, grain-free, and seriously addictive…I always have them stocked in my fridge, and often use them as a pre-run snack. They’ll be at the Charleston Farmers Market from 8am-2pm in Marion Square, and you can check out their fun(fetti) new flavor below on Instagram!
Girl Nextdough is back from summer break/mat leave and will be re-opening at James Island Business Park on Signal Point Road on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to noon!
Bangin’ Vegan Eats’ food truck will be at Snafu Brewing with Lil’ Sprout Vegan Desserts, from 5-8pm.

Feeling extremely fancy? Zero Restaurant is collaborating with Krug Champagne on a multi-course menu with four wine pairings, plus a welcome drink of their Grande Cuvee as well. You can book on Resy, but be warned that the DEPOSIT alone is $250, and further down on the Resy page it says something about tickets being $1,200! I’m sure it will be really nice, but…zoinks.

Lil’ updates
Thanks to Megan M for letting me know about Holy City Brewing’s raw bar specials! Did you all know about these? Holy City has an in-house raw bar called Empire Oyster, that you can order from anywhere on the property. They’ve got some pretty good weekly deals, too:
Half-off oysters from 4-6pm on Thursdays
$2 off all raw bar oyster shooters on Sundays
Half-off bottles of wine from the raw bar on Wednesdays, as well as half-off oysters from 4-6pm
Follow the Empire Oyster Bar on Instagram for more on their special raw bar dishes! Last week they went through about 20 pounds of lobster in ONE DAY for special lobster poblano tacos, and by the time I got there, they had sold out, so, get em’ while they’re…cold!
Kwei Fei is bringing old menu items back for one week only, by customer demand, through the end of August! Check out this week’s customer favorites on their site, including yu xiang eggplant and Yibin-style burning noodles. Have a dish that you miss? Message Kwei Fei on Instagram and let them know! Learn more about this effort in the Charleston City Paper.
Three Girls on Spring just announced a new menu item: the (plant-based, of course!) French onion soup burger! Check it out: their garlic bread pretzel roll with onion jam, plus a burger, mozzarella, caramelized onions and parm sauce!
New openings
Bar Copa, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and bar on Johns Island, just had their soft opening, and will be announcing their official opening date later this week! Stay tuned for more deets in the next Weekly Specials CHS, and peep their space below!
