Lil’ updates
Here are some dishes and drinks that caught my eye this week:
Beautiful South and Kwei Fei’s vegan food is incredible! Here’s Beautiful South’s new pipa tofu dish, which I must try immediately, made with crispy tofu puffs, shiitake mushrooms, bell pepper, carrot, and eggplant. Look at those colors!
Vern’s always has the most beautifully plated seasonal specials. Their latest is a work of art featuring shrimp, aji dulce, horseradish, and a smoked aioli.
***New pizza at Melfi’s alert*** Their bianco pie has a major truffle kick. It’s made with a ricotta robiola base, plus three more cheeses: hand-pulled mozzarella, fontina, and sottocenere al tartufo. It’s all topped with fried sage, and you can even opt to add black truffle, too.
Yumm…Basic Kitchen’s newest cocktail is vibrant and perfect for spring 🌺 Their Hibiscus Paloma is made with tequila blanco, grapefruit, lime, hibiscus, and soda.
New openings
Fiddler’s Fire just announced that they’re starting a residency at Sweatman’s Garden on April 30th! From Wednesday through Saturday, you’ll find Fidder’s Fire Yakitori and Oyster Bar serving up their latest menu. I personally love that Fiddler’s Fire always has a good selection of vegetarian and pescatarian dishes, like their sweet onion shoyu-glazed grilled udon noodles and their rotating braised local greens.
Aaand that’s a wrap!
